Cheer Max and Apex Championships COVID-19 current plan for events. We have been working diligently with our venues and local/state health officials to safely prepare for our events. These plans are based on our current situation and guidelines in the areas we conduct our competitions. As we all know, this is an ever changing situation. Flexibility and understanding will be required to get our athletes safely on the mat!
General Plan and Guidelines for All Competitions- these guidelines will be followed for both Plan A and Plan B competitions.
Plan A- will consist of small sessions 5-12 teams broken down by divisions. Example, Mini 1 only session or Sr. 3 only sessions. Spectators will be limited.
Plan B- will consist of medium sized sessions 15-25 teams broken down by divisions. Spectator capacity will be controlled to meet current local/state guidelines for sporting events.
Plan C- if we are unable to hold the event due to restrictions on gathering and/or sport restrictions, we will reschedule the competition if possible or transfer/refund 100% of registration fees. We believe in creating excellent competition experiences for athletes. We strongly believe that the investment made by athletes, coaches, and parents should result in “in person” events. Therefore, we have elected against a virtual option.
General Plan Specifics-
Space & Venue/Equipment Sanitizing
We will be participating in the building and non building split for the season. We advise you to compete with your full routine and mark stunts/pyramids/baskets. This will allow teams to move from building to non building as restrictions may change from competition to competition and throughout the season. This will also reduce any additional expenses or stress of creating another routine and/or music.

General Plan Specifics-
Space & Venue/Equipment Sanitizing
- Venue capacity will be reduced by 50% or more to allow for adequate social distancing.
- Venue areas will be marked to allow one way flow of traffic and 6 feet social distancing, including spacing of spectator seats.
- Designated entry and exit points will be communicated for athletes, coaches, and spectators to ensure a smooth transition in and out of the venue.
- Hand sanitizers will be located in prime areas of the venue.
- Venues will have increased sanitizing and cleaning schedules of high contact surface areas.
- Venues will have signage encouraging good hygiene and social distancing. Announcements will be made throughout the day.
- Competition and warm up mats will be sanitized with SportsSani before every competition. SportSani, which is EPA approved, protects against viruses and bacteria including coronavirus for 30 days. https://sportsani.com/
- Warm up mats and competition floor will be sanitized with Guardian 50 prior to each session. This is an all organic sanitizer which rapidly eliminates all pathogens, yet safe to be used around humans/animals with no harmful fumes or residues. https://www.okbioservices.com/service/
- To control gathering size. We will notify each session through our app when they may enter the venue. Time will be allotted between sessions to allow teams and spectators to exit the venue prior to the next session entering.
- Everyone must conduct daily symptom assessments. Symptoms may include: fever over 100 degrees Fahrenheit or chills, cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat. Anyone experiencing symptoms must stay home.
- Temperature checks may be required at athlete/coach entrance. Anyone with a temperature of 100.3 will not be allowed to enter.
- Athletes must wear face coverings at all times prior to entering the warm up area and upon completion of their routine. We will follow the current local/state guidelines for masks requirements during warm ups and competition at the time of the event. Example, Kentucky requires masks to be worn for non stunting teams only. If masks are not required during a routine, a team may choose to wear or not wear masks during competition and warm ups.
- Athletes will be required to use provided hand sanitizer upon entrance into the warm up area and as they leave the competition floor.
- Athletes will be required to use provided disinfect for their shoes upon entrance into the warm up area. We will have Sanistride Sports Sanitizer Mats available. We recommend keeping competition shoes in athletes' bags until they enter the warm up area.
- Athletes are required to bring their own separate water bottles into the warm up area. No shared water coolers or bottles will be available.
- Athletes will place bags in the designated area when entering warm up. The designated area will be sanitized between each team.
- Athletes will receive their athlete gift upon exiting the competition floor.
- Awards may be virtual. If awards are live, teams must stay separated from other teams.
